INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts placed defensive end Tyquan Lewis on the injured reserve list.
The move means Lewis will miss at least four games, assuming he’s able to come back this season. He suffered an elbow injury in Sunday’s win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Colts entered the season with a deep defensive line, but injuries have chipped away at that depth. The team lost edge rusher Samson Ebukam to an injury in training camp. Defensive stalwart DeForest Buckner went on injured reserve after the Green Bay game and fourth-year pro Kwity Paye missed the Steelers game with a quadricep injury.

In corresponding moves, the team signed defensive tackle Adam Gotsis to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and signed cornerback Kelvin Joseph to the practice squad.
Gotsis was elevated to the active roster for the Steelers game. He was credited with a tackle.
Lewis is one of the longest-tenured players on the Colts roster, having been selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The versatile defensive lineman came back from a pair of patellar tendon injuries and is a key rotational piece along the defensive line.
He started all four games during the 2024 season, compiling 17 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
The Colts originally signed Gotsis to the practice squad on Sept. 17. He was a second-round pick by the Broncos in the 2016 NFL Draft and has appeared in games for the Colts, Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Joseph spent Week 2 and Week 3 on the practice squad. The Cowboys selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
