INDIANAPOLIS - Out of all the high school football our FOX59 cameras caught tonight, two plays stand out as the best of the best. Now your vote will determine which of them wins the Shelbourne Knee Center Play of the Game.
NOMINEE #1: WARREN CENTRAL'S AIRIC HESTER
Trailing Cathedral in the second half, Warren Central needed some big plays to get back in it. They got one here courtesy of Airic Hester, who hauled in the Anthony Dennison pass with one hand as he fell into the end zone. The Warriors would come back for the win over the Irish, 34-28.
NOMINEE #2: COLUMBUS NORTH'S MACARIO MENDEZ AND GARRETT LONG
We saw three blocked punts on FOX59's high school football coverage tonight, but none of them were more impressive of a play than that put forth by Columbus North's special teams unit, as Macario Mendez breaks through the Terre Haute South protect unit for the block before the ball is scooped up by Garrett Long who returns it for a touchdown in the Bulldogs' 48-24 win over the Braves.
