INDIANAPOLIS — The NFL Combine will continue to be held in Indianapolis through at least the next year.
The National Football League announced Thursday that it has come to a deal with the City of Indianapolis to continue hosting the annual NFL off-season event in the Circle City in 2025.
"The city has continued to innovate and help us evolve both the setup for the football evaluation process as well as growing the in-person experience for football fans in the region and across the country," said NFL Executive VP Peter O’Reilly.
Described by the NFL as "a four-day, invitation-only event that allows scouts to evaluate that year's top draft-eligible college players on a variety of skills," the combine has drawn big names from the football world to Indianapolis and boosted the downtown economy for over 35 years.
Pro Football Network reported in March of 2022 that the NFL was considering other options for host cities such as Frisco, Texas, and Los Angeles.
Now, the NFL has quelled these rumors and confirmed that Indy is set to stay as the Combine's host city through 2025 in a press release sent Thursday by Visit Indy.
"We know cities across the U.S. consistently vie to host all of the NFL’s events,” said Leonard Hoops, president & CEO of Visit Indy. "We appreciate the NFL’s continued confidence and partnership with Indy, and we are looking forward to continued growth in our city."
Now heading into its 37th year hosting the Combine, the City of Indianapolis, Visit Indy, the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium, IU Health, the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Sports Corp collectively made a pitch to the NFL to retain the Combine.
The 2024 NFL Combine is set to be held from Feb. 29 through March 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. Dates for the 2025 Combine have not yet been announced.
