INDIANAPOLIS — NBA insiders are reporting that a deal has been reached between the Indiana Pacers and the Philadelphia 76ers that sends Buddy Hield to the city of brotherly love.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Hield is being traded by the Pacers to the 76ers in exchange for veteran forward Marcus Morris Sr., shooting guard Furkan Korkmaz, and three second-round picks.
The Athletic's Shams Charania said the Pacers immediately traded Morris and a second round pick to the San Antonio Spurs for Doug McDermott. McDermott will now return to the Circle City after previously playing three seasons with the Pacers.
Buddy Hield, who is set to be a free agent this coming offseason, came to Indianapolis during the 2021-2022 season as part of the trade for Tyrese Haliburton with the Sacramento Kings.
Hield averaged 18.2 points per game in his first season with the Pacers and was averaging 12 points per game this season.
Morris, a veteran forward who stands 6'8", has bounced around the league lending his defensive skills to several contenders including the Clippers, 76ers and Celtics. Morris was averaging 17 minutes with the 76ers so far this season.
Korkmaz, a backup guard who spent his entire career with the 76ers, can add some depth to the Pacers roster. He averaged 8 minutes with the 76ers this season.
