INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts kept adding to their roster by limiting defections.
In a busy week, the team has re-signed safety/linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr. and running back Trey Sermon.
Harrison appeared in seven games last season with three starts. He finished with 19 tackles, 1 sack and two interceptions. Harrison returned one of the interceptions for a touchdown.
Sermon returns as depth behind Jonathan Taylor. That was needed after Zack Moss signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. He appeared in 14 games in 2023 and had 160 yards on 35 carries. Sermon also caught three passes for 13 yards.
The week has been highlighted by the Colts signing linebacker Zaire Franklin to a three-year, $31.25 million extension and giving long-term deals to wideout Michael Pittman Jr. (three years, $70 million), defensive tackle Grover Stewart (three years, $39 million), cornerback Kenny Moore II (three years, $30 million), defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis (two years, $12 million) and punter Rigoberto Sanchez (three years, $7.5 million). Defensive end Genard Avery returns on a one-year deal.
The team also agreed to terms with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco (a one-year deal worth as much as $8.7 million) and defensive tackle Raekwon Davis (two years, $14 million).
