INDIANA — The road to Cleveland runs through Indiana, which will be well represented in the first and second rounds of the NCAA women's tournament. Both Indiana and Notre Dame will host March Madness games in the Albany 1 Region.
The Hoosiers secured home-court advantage for second straight year with the No. 4 seed, and will host No. 13 Fairfield.
"We're grateful for another opportunity to be in the field," said Indiana head coach Teri Moren. "We know it's going to be a challenge no matter who we play, but we're excited to be in front of Hoosier nation."
Moren's squad practiced not knowing who they would play or if they would host, but the break between the Big Ten tournament and Selection Sunday was great for rest and recovery. Senior Mackenzie Holmes injured her knee in Indiana's regular-season finale, but is feeling much better.
The Irish earned the No. 2 seed after winning the final five games of the regular season and three more to take the ACC title over Virginia Tech. Notre Dame will host No. 15 Kent State in the first round.
Should either team advance, they will likely face Caitlin Clark and top-seeded Iowa are the top seed in Albany.
