The impact that teachers have on their students are more than capable of going both ways. N.C. State guard Jayden Taylor, a Perry Meridian graduate, and his third grade teacher, Janet Wolfe, proved just that last weekend.

After starting his college career at Butler, Taylor transferred to North Carolina State and has been a key contributor to the Wolfpack's run to the Final Four.

As Wolfe recalls, Taylor's passion for basketball dates back all the way to his time in her elementary school classroom.

"We did a lot of creative writing. All about me books, poetry books," Wolfe said. "Jayden's were always about basketball."

Taylor's dreams have come true with N.C. State. When the Wolfpack upset Duke last Sunday, Wolfe decided to send out a congratulatory message.

"My daughter was home and I said take me off private here, and I'm going to tweet at Jayden," Wolfe said. "And the next thing you know, all these people were posting things and talking about Jayden and loving the post."

"My phone was blowing up. And she had mentioned me in a tweet," Taylor said. "I know Ms. Wolfe. She watched me at Butler and at Perry Meridian. I appreciate it her for just keeping it for so long and remembering me."

As of Saturday afternoon, the post has over 1.5 million views. Taylor and the Wolfpack lost to Purdue on Saturday evening.
