INDIANAPOLIS — One of the top prospects in the transfer portal has committed to Indiana.
In a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Oumar Ballo announced his commitment to the IU men's basketball team.
Ballo is a senior, and Indiana will be the third school he's attended. The 7-foot center played at Gonzaga in 2020-21, and he spent the last three seasons at Arizona.
Hailing from Mali, a country in West Africa, Ballo has played 132 college games. He's averaged 9.6 points and 6.6 rebounds a game during his four-year career.
Ballo, however, had his best season in 2023-24, averaging a double-double with 12.9 points and 10.1 rebounds a contest.
The two-time All-Pac-12 first-teamer joins an IU squad that missed the NCAA Tournament last year. The Hoosiers finished the 2023-24 season 19-14 overall and 10-10 in conference play.
