Monday's practice session marked the third in a 24-hour span for the Indiana Fever. The pace and attention to detail have added to first overall pick Caitlin Clark's learning curve.

"There's a lot to put into a little amount of time," Clark said. "There's no time for breaks. No time to take a single play off. I'm putting a lot in, so you have to learn at a quick speed."

"When you come into training camp, you know that you want to be at your best," Fever center Aliyah Boston said. "The rookies that came in, getting straight from college, I think it helps a lot because they're able to continue that stamina and pace."

The former face of women's college basketball had even more time in the building with her new team before training camp opened on the 28th.

Clark's new coaches and teammates have learned more about her beyond what she put on tape in college at Iowa.

"She's funny. She's quiet. She just wants to fit in. And she wants to win, whatever that looks like," head coach Christie Sides said. "Our goal is the playoffs. We want to be where the Pacers are right now. But we can't skip steps."

"How lucky are we that people are expecting so much of us? Our schedule is tough to start the year, but that's what's fun," Clark said. "We're going to see what we're made of."

The Fever open preseason play on May 3rd at the Dallas Wings. Their regular season home opener is on May 16th.
