INDIANAPOLIS — One of the most in-demand teams in the entire nation is right here in Indianapolis — and it's not the Colts or the Pacers.

The Caitlin Clark Effect is real. Since drafting the NCAA all-time leading scoring, the Indiana Fever has seen sales and demand skyrocket.

StubHub reports that WNBA tickets have already leaped up 93% since last season with the Indiana Fever leading the forefront in growth. Caitlin Clark even set the record for draft day merchandise sales on the night the Fever selected the Iowa star.

According to StubHub, the Indiana Fever is the top trending WNBA team in the United States with sales already 13 times higher than last year.

The WNBA season hasn't even tipped off yet but spectators will already find tickets hard to come by. According to StubHub, WNBA sales have doubled nationwide since the draft with Fever games leading the pack as the most in-demand ticket in women's basketball.

In fact, nine of the top 10 best-selling WNBA games feature the Fever. StubHub says Fever games in New York, Los Vegas, Los Angeles and Chicago round out the top sales in the WNBA.

Fever away game tickets are the highest for any team, at an average of $175.

StubHub said the New York Liberty's home opener vs the Indiana Fever is trending at triple the sales of their home opener for last season.

Clark may be the biggest star in Indianapolis as the hype around the college basketball great drew an estimated 17,000 to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a live draft night viewing party. Clark's final NCAA game — a championship showdown vs South Carolina — even outdrew the men's basketball championship game by nearly 10 million viewers in a record-setting matchup.

Another sign of the Caitlin Clark Effect? The Fever will be playing 36 of their 40 regular season games on national television this season including multiple games on ESPN. Last season, the Fever had several games only available to watch on Facebook and had one game on ESPN.

The Fever's regular season tips off on May 14 in Connecticut. The Fever's first four games will be on ESPN, Amazon Prime and ABC.
