INDIANAPOLIS -- Officials with the Indiana Fever announced that one of its preseason games has been rescheduled because of the Indiana Pacers' playoff run.
According to a news release from the Indiana Fever, the team's preseason game originally scheduled for May 10 has been moved to 7 p.m. on May 9 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, located at 125 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
This comes after the Indiana Pacers, who share the same home venue as the Indiana Fever, won their first round series against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday evening. The Pacers will face the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals; the series begins on Monday.
The Pacers will host the third and fourth game of the semifinals on May 10 and May 12, impacting the Fever's home preseason game. This comes after the Indiana Fever selected Caitlin Clark, the former Iowa standout who is the all-time leading scorer in college basketball history, with the No. 1 overall pick last month.
Tickets for the preseason game originally scheduled for Friday will be valid for Thursday's rescheduled date, officials with the Indiana Fever said. The game will also be featured on the WNBA mobile app.
The Indiana Fever open the regular season on the road against the Connecticut Sun at 8 p.m. on May 14. The Fever's first regular season home game will be at 7 p.m. on May 16 against the New York Liberty.
