INDIANAPOLIS – With the offseason here for the Indiana Pacers, the team turns its attention to the upcoming NBA Draft.
The Pacers, eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, hold three picks in the upcoming draft. The team doesn’t have a first-round selection this year after surrendering three first-rounders in the Pascal Siakam trade. Indiana had been part of the draft lottery in the three previous years.
All three of Indiana’s 2024 picks are in the second round: No. 36, No. 49 and No. 50. Each pick came through various trades—and you need a road map to follow it. The No. 36 pick, for example, is Indiana’s “from Toronto via Philadelphia, Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis,” according to the NBA’s website.
It’s possible the Pacers trade some picks to move up a few spots in the draft, as draft days are often filled with last-minute deals.
The Pacers will hold their third pre-draft workout on Wednesday, June 12, at the Ascension St. Vincent Center. The group includes Jack Gohlke, whose sharp shooting helped Oakland upset the Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament.

Other players expected to work out include Yongxi Cui (China), Thijs de Ridder (Belgium), Emanuel Miller (TCU), Ajay Mitchell (UC-Santa Barbara) and Tyson Walker (Michigan State).
This year, the NBA Draft is being held over two nights. In the past, the first and second rounds were held on the same night. The first round is set for Wednesday, June 26, at Barclays Center in New York. The second round will take place on Thursday, June 27, at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in New York.
It means, as things currently stand, that the Pacers won't be on the clock until day two.
The Atlanta Hawks won the draft lottery and have the first overall pick. Washington, Houston, San Antonio and Detroit round out the top five.
