Fever's Boston named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston has posted double-doubles in her last three games.

Her efforts got the attention of the WNBA, which named her Eastern Conference Player of the Week. It’s the second time she’s received the honor in her career.

Boston averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2 blocks over a three-game stretch from June 10 through June 16. She also moved into a fifth-place tie in franchise history for all-time double-doubles with 15.

In a June 10 loss to Connecticut, Boston finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She added 5 assists and a blocked shot. Against the Atlanta Dream on June 13, Boston matched a career high with 27 points, adding 13 rebounds and 2 assists. In Indiana’s June 16 win against Chicago, Boston had 19 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and a career-best 5 blocks.

On the season, Boston is averaging 12.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. She’s 10th in blocks and 12th in rebounds per game in the WNBA.

The Fever have won three out of their last four games and are currently 5-10 on the season. They host the Washington Mystics Wednesday night to close out a three-game homestand.
