The streaming sports bundle from Disney-ESPN, FOX and Warner Bros. Discovery will cost $42.99 a month.
Venu Sports will offer ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV, as well as ESPN+ for the monthly price.
The streaming service will over a free seven-day trial. Anyone who signs up for the launch will keep that price for 12 months and can cancel at any time.
No formal date was set, with Venu saying it planned to launch “in the fall and will offer thousands of live sports events from all the major professional sports leagues and top college conferences.”
The service includes 14 live sports channels plus on-demand content from sports networks and ESPN+. It does not feature content from NBCUniversal or Paramount, leaving out sports coverage from NBC and CBS.
“With an impressive portfolio of sports programming, Venu will provide sports fans in the U.S. with a single destination for watching many of the most sought-after games and events,” said Pete Distad, Venu’s CEO.
“We're building Venu from the ground up for fans who want seamless access to watch the sports they love, and we will launch at a compelling price point that will appeal to the cord cutter and cord never fans currently not served by existing pay TV packages,” he said.
Viewers can expect live broadcasts from the NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, NHL and NCAA, along with motorsports (IndyCar, NASCAR, Formula 1), Grand Slam Tennis, golf, MMA, soccer and more.
Venu will be available to consumers via a new app, although subscribers can also bundle it with other streaming services like Disney+, Hulu or Max.
According to The Associated Press, Venu still has some regulatory hurdles to clear. In addition, FuboTV filed an antitrust lawsuit claiming ESPN, FOX and Warner Bros. Discovery imposed bundling requirements that prevented it from offering a similar sports-only streaming service.
