INDIANAPOLIS – The latest edition of Madden NFL is out soon, and we now know how the Indianapolis Colts are looking in the game.
This week, EA Sports released rankings for every player. It was a phased rollout by position group.
Nine Indianapolis Colts players had overall ratings in the 80+ range, and no Colts player earned an overall rating in the 90s.

The team’s highest-rated player is Quenton Nelson, an 89 overall with a 95 rating in strength. The highest-rated defense player was D-line stalwart DeForest Buckner, awarded an 87 overall.
Jonathan Taylor (87), Kenny Moore II (86), Michael Pittman Jr. (86), Braden Smith (85), Grover Stewart (84), Ryan Kelly (84) and Bernhard Raimann (82) rounded out Colts players rated 80 or higher overall.
Anthony Richardson's rating
The key to the real Indianapolis Colts' season will be the play of quarterback Anthony Richardson, who showed flashes of brilliance last season but didn't log enough games for anyone to get a complete picture of his NFL fit. Richardson went down in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans and ended up having season-ending shoulder surgery.
AR appeared in four games last season, leaving due to injury in three of them. He attempted just 84 passes.
Questions about Richardson's durability and performance appear to have the Madden NFL 25 hedging its bets. The game rated Richardson a 74 overall, making him the 25th-highest rated QB among his peers.

He earned the same overall rating as rookies Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders) and Drake Maye (New England Patriots) and ended up below rookie QB Caleb Williams (76, Chicago Bears) and Justin Fields (75, Pittsburgh Steelers). Just behind Richardson at 73: Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew, the backup who nearly led the Colts to the playoffs last season.
Richardson received a 91 for speed, ranking him fourth among NFL quarterbacks behind Kyler Murray (92), Justin Fields (93) and Lamar Jackson (95).
Richardson ranks high in acceleration (92), agility (88), jumping (93) and throwing power (95). As for pass accuracy, he's rated 86 for short passes, 78 for mid passes and 76 on deep balls.
How the rooks fared
The Colts added nine players during April’s NFL Draft. Laiatu Latu, the 15th overall pick, is the team’s top-rated rookie at 77. The game gave him an 84 for speed and a 77 for strength.
Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, the team’s second-round pick, earned a 72 overall, with a 94 for speed and a 91 for agility.

Fifth-round pick Anthony Gould, a wide receiver/returner, garnered a 69 overall rating, with a 94 for speed and an 86 for agility.
Cornerback Micah Abraham scored 67 overall, with a 91 for speed. Fifth-round pick Jaylon Carlies was a 67 overall as well, with an 89 for speed.
Jaylin Simpson, drafted as a cornerback but listed as a free safety in the game, was also a 67 overall, with a 90 rating for speed and a 93 for jumping ability. Jonah Laulu, the team’s seventh-round pick, was a 69 overall.
Center Tanor Bortolini, a third-round pick listed at center, earned a 70 overall rating. Fellow rookie offensive lineman Matt Goncalves, listed at right tackle, was a 69 overall.
Speedsters
At the very least, the Colts have some speed on the Madden roster. The game listed 20 Colts with a speed rating of 90 or higher. Reserve cornerback Ameer Speed led the team with a 95.
Running back Jonathan Taylor’s 93 rating made him twelfth-fastest among NFL running backs listed in the game.
Rookies Adonai Mitchell and Anthony Gould were locked in a tie for the team’s fastest wide receiver, with each getting a 94 rating.

The 99 Club
Just a handful of players made Madden’s vaunted 99 Club. They included this year’s cover athlete, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, and his teammate, left tackle Trent Williams.
A pair of Kansas City Chiefs made the club—quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce both rated 99.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill also earned a 99 overall—and is the only player in the game to receive the coveted 99 speed rating.
You can find all of this year's ratings at the Madden NFL 25 website.
Madden NFL 25 is available on Aug. 16. Players who buy the Deluxe Edition get three-day early access and some other bonuses.
