(WXIN/WTTV) — The latest story in the Caitlin Clark vs Angel Reese debate arrived Thursday as NBA 2K has released its WNBA rookie rankings for the video game's latest installment.
Who took the overall ranking title as best rookie in women's basketball? Well, it's a tie.
While the two WNBA Rookie of the Year candidates were at the top, neither edged the other out. In social media posts Thursday afternoon, NBA 2K unveiled that the Indiana Fever guard and Chicago Sky center received 90 overall rankings for 2K25.
"Making a name for themselves in the W," the post read. "What will their ratings be by the end of the season?"
The post from 2K also featured a first look at the graphics design for both rookie phenoms.
Many social media users were confused by the rankings reveal, questioning how Reese could be tied with Clark.
- "Actually how is that mathematically possible," X user @JMurrayWrld asked.
- "Them being the same OVR is crazy work, CC is better," @BXCKETSSS wrote.
- "They disrespected Caitlin Clark," @Adele_Lide wrote.
Rounding out the Top 5 overall rookies in 2K25 were Reese's Sky teammate Kamilla Cardoso, Sparks forward Rickea Jackson and Sparks center Cameron Brink - all ranked 80.
As for the best in WNBA outside of the rookies, 2K revealed that Los Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson was a 99 overall.
Rounding out the overall Top 5 in the W were Liberty forward Breanna Stewart at 97, Lynx forward Napheesa Collier at 95, Sun forward Alyssa Thomas at 95 and Mercury center Brittney Griner at 94.
