INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers will play on the national stage this week.
ESPN will broadcast Wednesday’s home game against the New Orleans Pelicans. It’s one of the few chances national audiences will have to watch the Blue and Gold this season.
The change means a slightly later tip time; the game was originally slated to start at 7 p.m. but will now start at 7:30 p.m. It will also air on Bally Sports Indiana.
The Pacers are expected to once again sport their City Edition uniforms.
Indiana had a single nationally televised game on this season’s schedule, the Jan. 30 matchup against the Boston Celtics. However, the Pacers’ surprising run in the NBA’s new In-Season Tournament earned them three additional national games.
After Monday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors, the Pacers (33-26) are sitting in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Pelicans (34-24) are sixth in the Western Conference. For New Orleans, Wednesday’s game will mark the second half of a back-to-back; they take on the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.
After Wednesday’s game, the Pacers and Pelicans will square off again Friday (March 1) in New Orleans to cap off their home-and-home series.
