INDIANAPOLIS -- Quarterback Gardner Minshew looks poised to leave the Circle City after spending one year with the Indianapolis Colts.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Minshew is set to sign a two-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders in a deal worth a reported $25 million. Minshew will compete with Aidan O'Connell for the starting QB spot in Las Vegas, according to the report.
Minshew distinguished himself as a firm fan favorite after taking over quarterback duties for the final 12 games of the 2023 season after Anthony Richardson's season-ending injury. During his time as the starting quarterback, Minshew recorded a variety of personal bests and almost led the Colts to the postseason.
Before arriving in Indianapolis, Minshew spent two seasons playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles. Minshew had followed Head Coach Shane Steichen from Philly to Indy last season, accepting a one-year deal worth an estimated $3.5 million.
Despite losing Minshew, Colts opened up the NFL free agency window by focusing on retaining the talent already on their team. Colts gave wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. a three-year extension before re-signing defense players Grover Stewart and Tyquan Lewis.
